The Truth Is in the Details — Why We Created Our Condition Chart

When we started R&R Vintage, we made a quiet promise to ourselves: we would only sell pieces we’d personally love to receive. That may sound simple, but in the vintage world, it means everything.

Vintage items carry stories. Sometimes that story includes a little wear on the corners of a leather bag, a faded tag, or a zipper that’s not as smooth as it once was. And we’re okay with that — in fact, we love it. But what we’re not okay with is surprise. Because nothing ruins a great find faster than realizing it wasn’t what you expected.

That’s why we created our Condition Rating Chart.

We inspect every single item ourselves — not just to check its condition, but to decide if we agree with the state it was originally listed in, or if we feel it’s not a fair reflection of the piece. Just the two of us (and sometimes our dogs, judging silently from the corner). We hold each vintage designer bag, accessory, or piece of jewelry in our hands and ask: “If I were the buyer, would I be thrilled to open this?”

Our chart breaks condition down into five honest, no-fluff categories: New, Excellent, Very Good, Good, and Fair.

We’re also clear about original accessories. If something comes with its original box, pouch, case, certificate, or tags, you’ll see it in the photos and in the product description. If we don’t mention it, it’s not included. No guessing. No assumptions.

Why go to all this trouble? Because we believe in respect. And that starts with being transparent.

Our customers are thoughtful, stylish, and detail-oriented — just like the pieces we sell. You deserve to know exactly what you're buying.
